Tumors are common dog diseases. Without timely treatment, they can lead to the death of the animal. Dog cancer treatment has made significant strides recently, offering new hope for our furry companions. If there is suspicion of benign mammary cancer, it is necessary to seek expert veterinary care. Early detection of breast dog cancer is crucial to better outcomes and available treatment options. A specialized veterinarian known as a dog oncologist plays a vital role in diagnosing and managing dog tumors, offering essential guidance to pet owners. Dealing with dog skin cancer treatment can be challenging, but with the help of skilled veterinary professionals, you can explore the most appropriate options for your beloved pet’s well-being. If you ever notice concerning symptoms, it’s advisable to consult an oncologist to determine the best course of action.
Symptoms of Tumors
Some types are visible visually. This applies to external neoplasms affecting the skin, subcutaneous tissues, and mucous membranes. They often differ in rapid growth and can become hard, ulcerate, and bleed. Also, breast and other types of cancer affect overall well-being and lead to the following symptoms:
- Weight loss to the point of emaciation;
- Lethargy, weakness, and apathy;
- Digestive system disorders (loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea);
- Bleeding;
- Tissue swelling;
- Lameness.
Breast cancer is more often diagnosed in female dogs. In males, testicular involvement is more common. Skin and soft tissue neoplasms can occur in beloved friends of any gender.

Dog Treatment
The treatment mechanism depends on the type of neoplasm, its location, and its stage of development. Benign tumors, mostly in the form of papillomas, which grow slowly and do not metastasize, are removed by a specialized surgeon without additional treatment. However, malignant tumors require a different approach to therapy:
- Removal with surgery (if possible);
- Chemotherapy (to destroy all tumor cells);
- Radiation therapy (radiation)
Canine cancer is not always curable; sometimes, the owner is offered palliative (supportive) therapy to prolong the animal’s life and suppress the signs of the disease.
The Haabersti Loomakliinik in Tallinn offers modern, qualified treatment for malignant and benign neoplasms at various stages of development. Among our advantages are:
- Therapy for different types of cancer (including breast, carcinoma, and squamous cell skin cancer);
- Minimally invasive (low-trauma) tumor removal in dogs;
- Assistance with complex cases;
- Operations of varying complexity (on limbs, neck, abdomen, and chest);
- Diagnosis and treatment of oncology at different stages;
- Qualified palliative care;
- Support throughout the therapy process;
- Competitive and reasonable prices.
In our clinic in Tallinn, only highly qualified veterinary oncologists work. We provide an individual approach to each client, cure illnesses, and extend the lives of pets. The cost of our services is pleasantly affordable.
